Custom Knitwear & Sweater Development

Custom Knitwear Development for Fashion Brands

We support custom knitwear development for fashion brands, designers and B2B buyers, covering sweaters, cardigans, knitted tops, dresses, pants and other knitted garments.

Our role covers yarn and material selection, gauge and stitch planning, sample development, fit adjustments, private label details, production coordination and quality control. Production is arranged with selected manufacturing partners according to the garment construction, yarn, gauge, technique and order requirements.

From straightforward commercial knitwear to styles involving more complex structures or decorative processes, each project is developed according to the approved design, specifications and target quality requirements.

Product Development & Sampling

Custom knitwear development begins with understanding the product rather than simply selecting an existing sweater style. We review the design, intended yarn or material, garment weight, hand feel, fit, knit structure, color and finishing requirements before sampling.

Our development support includes:

Yarn & Material Selection
Choose from commonly used knitwear materials such as Merino wool, cashmere, cotton, wool blends and other commercial yarn options according to the required hand feel, weight, season and target price.

Gauge & Knit Structure Planning
Gauge and stitch construction are considered together with yarn count and garment design. Depending on the project, development may involve fine-gauge or heavier knit structures, rib, cable, jacquard, intarsia, pointelle and other knitted constructions.

Sampling & Fit Adjustment
Samples are reviewed for measurements, proportion, drape, construction, stitch appearance and overall fit. Adjustments can be made before the design moves into bulk production.

Private Label Details
Custom labels, hangtags, trims, packaging and other branding details can be coordinated according to the project requirements.

From Approved Sample to Bulk Production

After sample approval, we coordinate the production process with manufacturing partners suited to the required yarn, gauge, knit structure and finishing processes.

Production follow-up focuses on consistency between the approved sample and bulk garments, including measurements, color, knitting appearance, workmanship and finishing.

Quality control requirements are determined according to the individual product and may include measurement checks, visual workmanship inspection, color and material verification, labeling and packaging checks.

Flexible Knitwear Production

Our knitwear programs are designed for B2B development rather than retail purchasing.

Stock programs can start from 50 pieces per style, while custom knitwear production generally starts from 200 pieces per style, depending on yarn, construction, color quantity and production requirements.

For new projects, send us your tech pack, reference images, measurements or design concept. We can review the specifications and advise on a suitable development route before sampling.
