Wool-Blend Yarn & Mid-Gauge Development
Wool and wool-blend yarns can be selected according to the required garment weight, hand feel, warmth and surface appearance.
This vest can be developed in 7GG or 9GG mid-gauge knitting. Fiber composition, yarn count, gauge and stitch density should be evaluated together because changing these specifications can affect garment weight, stretch, drape and finished dimensions.
V-Neck & 3-Button Placket Development
The V-neck and button placket can be adjusted according to the buyer’s design requirements.
Development options include:
- V-neck depth and width
- Placket length and width
- Button quantity, size and spacing
- Armhole dimensions
- Chest and body width
- Body length
- Rib dimensions
- Yarn composition and gauge
- Size grading
V-neck depth, placket length and button spacing should be reviewed together to maintain balanced front proportions.
Chest Pocket Placement & Construction
The chest pocket can be customized in width, height, position and knitted structure according to the garment dimensions and design direction.
Pocket placement should be evaluated together with the V-neck and placket because these elements share the same front visual area. Changes in garment size or chest width may require corresponding adjustments to pocket position.
Why Pocket & Placket Stability Matters in Knit Vests
Unlike woven fabrics, knitted structures can stretch and recover according to yarn properties, gauge and stitch density. Adding a button placket and pocket introduces additional localized weight and construction to the front panel.
If the pocket dimensions, placket structure or surrounding knit density are not balanced, the front panel can distort or the pocket opening may lose its intended shape.
During sampling, the V-neck, placket, button spacing and pocket placement should therefore be checked together on the intended garment size.
Fit, Color & Private Label Customization
Garment width, body length, armhole dimensions and V-neck proportions can be adjusted according to the buyer’s tech pack or target size chart.
Custom yarn colors can be developed according to available yarn cards. Private-label options can include woven labels, care labels, hangtags and packaging.
Sampling & Quality Control
A development sample is recommended to confirm yarn, gauge, measurements, V-neck proportions, placket construction, button spacing, pocket placement and branding details.
Quality control is based on the approved sample and buyer specifications, including garment measurements, knit consistency, neckline symmetry, button attachment, pocket shape, linking, finishing and packaging.
