Women’s Cropped Knit Sweater

Style Number: WBL-AW25143

This women’s cropped knit sweater combines a relaxed silhouette with a round neckline and contrast trim at the neckline, sleeve cuffs and hem. The shorter body proportion and loose fit create a contemporary pullover shape suitable for casual, streetwear and transitional knitwear collections.

OEM/ODM development is available for fashion brands and private labels, with customization covering yarn, knitting gauge, body length, fit, base color, contrast trim color, sizing and branding.

Viscose Cotton Yarn & Mid-Gauge Development

A viscose-cotton blended yarn can be used to balance the characteristics of both fibers for this cropped sweater construction. The final hand feel, weight and drape depend on the fiber ratio, yarn count, knitting gauge, stitch density and finishing process.

This style can be developed in 7GG or 9GG mid-gauge knitting, depending on the selected yarn and required appearance. Gauge should not be evaluated independently: changing yarn thickness or stitch density can also affect garment weight, surface definition and drape.

Yarn composition and gauge should therefore be confirmed together during sample development.

Cropped Fit & Contrast Trim Development

The cropped proportion can be adjusted according to the buyer’s target fit and size chart. Body length, chest width, shoulder shape and sleeve measurements can be modified during OEM/ODM development.

The contrast neckline, cuffs and hem can also be customized independently from the main body color.

Development options include:

  • Custom body and sleeve measurements
  • Cropped body length adjustment
  • Base and contrast color combinations
  • Rib width and depth
  • 7GG or 9GG construction
  • Yarn composition and yarn count
  • Custom size grading
  • Main labels and care labels
  • Hangtags and packaging

For contrast-color designs, the relationship between the main jersey body and rib trim should be checked during sampling to confirm suitable tension, recovery and proportions.

Why Rib Tension Matters on Contrast-Trim Sweaters

Contrast trim is not only a color detail. The rib structure at the neckline, cuffs and hem usually has different stretch and recovery characteristics from the main jersey-knit body.

If rib tension, stitch density or dimensions are not coordinated with the main knit structure, the trim can pull excessively, flare outward or distort the garment silhouette.

For this reason, yarn, gauge, jersey structure, rib construction and garment measurements should be evaluated together during development rather than treating the black trim as a purely decorative element.

Sampling & Quality Control

A development sample is recommended before bulk production to confirm yarn, gauge, colors, cropped proportions, fit and contrast trim construction.

Quality control is based on the approved sample and buyer specifications. Inspection points can include garment measurements, knit consistency, neckline shape, rib dimensions, contrast-color appearance, linking and seams, finishing, labels and packaging.
